Last week my friend and photographer Claudia Simchen has initiated the first Let’s connect workshop in Frankfurt, and I had the honour to participate in the event with making a lunch and snacks for 15 people.
The idea of the workshop was to inform and connect female photographers and other freelance creatives. The workshop started at 10am with an introduction by everyone, and was followed by a talk by Alexandra Rothe from Leipzig about Instagram and how creative people can use the platform for their own work.
After the talk, Catrin Schweizer led the group through a 20-minutes yoga class, focussing on yoga poses which the ladies can practice at home to strengthen their backs and relax their necks.
And then it was time for my part of the workshop: lunch! I prepared this salad at home in advance and had to just mix the ingredients together at the workshop space, called “Der kleine Mann mit dem Blitz”. The salad is one of my favourites, using cooked Puy lentils, rocket, roasted beetroots, hazelnuts and goat’s cheese as well as a vinaigrette made from dried tomatoes, oil, balsamic vinegar and mustard.
As snacks I made two recipes from my cookbook “Happily Healthy”: flapjacks with dried apricots and peanut butter chia seeds protein balls. Apparently everyone loved the food – at least that’s what they said during the workshop and wrote in social networks after the event.
Claudia is already planning the next Let’s Connect workshop in Frankfurt, and I do hope that I will be part of it again, despite the baby arriving soon anytime next month!
Love,
Lea Lou
