I have already shared some impressions from our first Swedish Midsommar party at the palace in Tyresö on Instagram. The weekend has been ultimately special and wonderful, and I am very thankful for having had the chance to participate a tradition that is so important for the Swedish people.
We have celebrated Midsommar at the Tyresö slott (palace), with many hundreds of other people, dancing around the May pole. It wasn’t very touristic; lots of local people gathered together, having picnics, strawberry cake, wine and beer.
We stayed in Tyresö for the weekend, at this airbnb to be precise. It is a recommendation from the bottom of my heart, there is a rowing boat, direct access to the lake, a playground and farm across the lake, a huge garden and, surrounding the house, an entire nature preserve to explore. The house is not ideal for bad weather conditions though, as the apartment for guests is located in the basement and therefore quite cold.
Have some of you already heard about Tyresö? I would definitely come back here next year to celebrate Midsommar exactly like we did this year!
Love,
Lea Lou
