It’s been exactly six months ago that I told you all about my way into yoga here. I talked about having only just started visiting Yoga classes regularly, and I told you about my anticipation for and excitement about every yoga class I would attend. Half a year later not much has changed: Yoga has changed my life, how tacky this may sound whatsoever, and I can not imagine to give over neither my practice nor the idea of the holistic lifestyle at any point in the future. I still find my Saturday morning 90-minutes Astanga Vinyasa class with Jess Glenny the most challenging practice of all, because it aims not only to build muscles and improve flexibility, but also asks the participants to stay in a pose for five long and deep breaths. I have to concentrate a lot and work hard on my breathing to being able to…
Whenever I mix myself a smoothie for breakfast – which, by the way, happens rather often, I have therefore even started a little hashtag project on Instagram – I…
Obviously, the salad can be enjoyed cold, too: The original recipe from the GAIL’s cookbook, which I have amended a little to my taste, actually suggests it to be eaten chilled. I do, however, love the combination of warm “al dente” puy lentils and warm(ish) oven-baked beetroots whilst the remaining ingredients are cold (or let’s be precise and call them “at room temperature”). The “secret” method which gives this salad its interesting twist and strong aromatic flavour is to bake the beetroots in the oven with their skin on; with spreading their skin with olive oil first, then wrapping them in kitchen foil and baking them for about an hour you will get the most aromatic little beetroots you may have ever tasted! Now, admittedly this is not one of those salads you prepare within five minutes by just mixing veggies together and drizzling them with olive oil and balsamic…
The first time I made my own Christmas cookies was two years ago – and I must admit that I have nearly given up back then. I considered…
Whilst I normally enjoy my Sunday mornings over an extensive breakfast at home (pancakes normally), some Sundays may also call for adventures, plans, meeting friends and such. After I’ve handed in my assignments two weeks ago, I went on a trip to Wales and then left for Germany, where I had the pleasure to host a catering for a press lunch in the context of the opening of Folkdays and Friends’ pop p shop. I’m back in London now for a few days, soon on my way to catch up with my dear friend Olga – hence, there’s no time for an extensive breakfast with eggs, pancakes or croissants at home today neither. And let me tell you this: Also the next weeks will be kind of crazy, I’m going to Los Angeles on Tuesday! Whoop whoop – I’ve only been to the States once (to New York and Washington,…
The good thing about this salad is: Well, honestly, there’s many good things about it. It’s quick, and it’s delicious, it’s cheap (I know, I know, quinoa isn’t…
