If you follow me on Instagram, you will have noticed that I am spending a good amount of time every week at the Frankfurt-based coffee roastery Hoppenworth & Ploch. I am running their social media accounts, and as I take pictures there every week anyway, I thought I would share some of my favourite ones with you on the blog today. Watch out – serious coffee content awaiting you while scrolling down!
Even before I moved to Frankfurt just over a year ago, I started talking to the team at Hoppenworth & Ploch, or “Hopplo”, about an open vacancy which seemed tailor-made for me, because both food and coffee were involved. I joined the team as a freelancer, some of my responsibilities were to change the menu, come up with new cake recipes and also bake cakes every now and then for the roastery.
I also offered to take responsibility for the Instagram and Facebook accounts of Hopplo back then, and right now, a year later, I am more or less only doing social media, which means: I visit the roastery or campus branch once a week at least, or go visit other cafés and restaurants, which serve Hopplo coffee, and I then take and edit pictures, which we post on Instagram and Facebook after.
It is a job I enjoy to the fullest, obviously because I get to drink amazing coffee during every shoot, but also because I love to create images which will make others come visit the café. It means so much fun to me to play with the drinks and food we serve, to use props for the pictures which I find at the roastery as well as hand models among the seriously amazing team, and, not to forget, beautiful flowers by our neighbours Phoenix Flowers.
As I am constantly taking new photos, I thought I would publish my most favourite ones so far here on the blog, too, to give them a space where maybe even more people can enjoy them and come visit us at the roastery or campus after!
See you soon – I’m the one bending over coffee with a camera!
Love,
Lea Lou
