After blundering into the bright white facaded café Anderson & Co. (which has actually been a recommendation by my dear friend Aida) on Peckham’s Bellenden Road, which is packed with lovely shops (even the little whole foods shop opposite of Anderson & Co. is worth a visit by itself!) and beautiful restaurants, bars and cafés, you should make sure to walk to its very back – where you’ll eventually end up in a beautiful conservatory style green backyard.
The food is fresh and mainly healthy here, with a breakfast menu serving the usual options such as porridge, bircher muesli, granola, eggs (any kind) and toasts between 8 am and noon every day. What’s more, is a daily changing lunch menu, consisting of soups, salads, burgers as well as steak frites and mussels. Anderson & Co. is also open for dinner between Thursday and Saturday with a menu similar to the lunch one.
With this little sweet tooth I have I went to Anderson & Co. for one of the little salted caramel brownie bites – but don’t worry if you are into the real cakes: They have them there, too. Think blueberry and maple cream cheese or a massive chocolate & guiness cake, for instance, not to forget the always amazing carrot cake.
As usual in Peckham and surroundings, you might be overwhelmed by the – cheap! – prices for food and drinks at Anderson & Co. Whilst you may easily happen to spend 8 pounds for a porridge somewhere central, it’s only 3,50 pounds here, and that applies for all other dishes, too.
Let the pictures tell you the rest about Anderson & Co. – I for one certainly fell in love with the cozy backyard and shall come back for breakfast, lunch, dinner or cake (it’s the latter, I assume) very soon.
Have a lovely day, folks.
Love,
Lea Lou
